This 12-month role is a rare opportunity to shape that journey.
We’re looking for a Director of Data & Insights to define and lead our enterprise data and AI strategy, with real ownership and influence across the business. Based in Bristol or Bideford, you’ll work closely with our senior leadership team and teams across the UK, bringing together data science, analytics and engineering into a single, high-performing function.

Owning and delivering Travel Chapter’s data and AI strategy, aligned to our growth plans
Positioning data and AI as strategic enablers across the organisation, influencing decisions at senior and board level
Identifying and delivering high-impact AI opportunities across customer experience, pricing, operations and internal productivity
Moving the business from reactive reporting to proactive, predictive and increasingly automated decision making
Bringing together Data Science & Insights and Data Engineering & Platform under a single, value-driven roadmap
Acting as a trusted partner to the Senior Leadership Team, translating complex data opportunities into clear commercial outcomes
Building strong relationships across Commercial, Marketing, Product, Technology, Finance and Operations
Establishing clear data governance, ownership and reporting standards to ensure trust, consistency and scalability
Shaping and evolving our data platform to support advanced analytics and AI capability
Driving high-quality delivery across reporting, insights and data science, with a clear focus on measurable impact
Building, leading and developing a high-performing Data & Insights function
What you’ll bring
Significant experience leading data, analytics or data science functions within a commercial environment
A proven track record of delivering measurable business value from data and insight
Experience shaping or delivering data strategy, analytics transformation or platform evolution
Strong exposure to AI and machine learning, with the ability to identify practical, high-impact use cases
Confidence operating at a senior level, influencing stakeholders and guiding decision making
A strong understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle, from ingestion through to insight and action
Experience with modern data platforms and BI tools such as Power BI
The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable business insight
It’s a bonus if you have
Experience within a marketplace, travel, e-commerce or platform-led business
Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure or Microsoft Fabric
Experience with analytics engineering approaches such as dbt
Experience building data governance frameworks and improving data quality at scale
Why join us?
This is a genuinely high-impact leadership role with a clear 12-month brief. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how an entire organisation uses data and AI, driving tangible change in how we operate and grow.
You’ll be joining a people-first, B Corp organisation with strong foundations, real ambition, and the appetite to invest in doing things properly.
