Your next chapter
At Travel Chapter, we're proud to be the holiday home people. As a certified B Corp, we're committed to creating meaningful experiences, doing business responsibly and finding smarter ways to work.
We're looking for a Head of Data Enablement to shape and build our approach to data governance, helping us make data more trusted, accessible and valuable across the business.
This is an opportunity to establish the foundations of data governance in an organisation where maturity is still developing. You'll work closely with our Director of Data & Insight and senior stakeholders to define how data is owned, managed and used, building the frameworks and accountability needed to support better decisions, reporting and future AI adoption.
We're looking for someone who can turn strategy into action, influence without relying on authority and embed governance in a way that enables the business rather than creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
What you'll be doing
Developing and delivering our Data Governance and Enablement roadmap, aligned to business priorities and our wider Data Strategy.
Establishing a practical governance framework, with clear ownership, stewardship, decision rights and escalation processes.
Implementing standards for metadata, business definitions, data lineage and data quality across priority data assets.
Driving accountability for data quality, ensuring issues have clear ownership and effective remediation plans.
Establishing data retention and lifecycle management practices in partnership with Legal, Compliance and Information Security.
Embedding governance into projects, reporting, data products, analytics and AI initiatives.
Building data literacy and empowering colleagues to manage and use data confidently.
Measuring governance maturity and demonstrating progress through meaningful KPIs.
Evaluating governance tools and solutions where they deliver clear business value.
What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced data governance or data management professional with a track record of building effective frameworks and getting people to adopt them. You'll combine strategic thinking with practical delivery and understand that successful governance depends on clear accountability, strong relationships and proportionate controls.
You'll bring:
Experience leading data governance, data management or data enablement in a complex organisation.
Proven experience implementing data ownership and stewardship, metadata and data quality frameworks.
The ability to translate data strategy into practical operating models, standards and measurable outcomes.
Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving accountability across business and technical teams.
Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata and data lifecycle management.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills, including the confidence to challenge constructively.
A pragmatic, commercially minded approach that balances business value, risk and control.
The ability to build organisational capability and embed sustainable ways of working.
It would be great if you also have
Experience with enterprise data retention and lifecycle management.
Experience governing data products, reporting, semantic models or AI-enabled solutions.
Experience implementing data catalogues, lineage or data quality tools.
A recognised data management or governance qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
Why join Travel Chapter?
This is your opportunity to shape a developing data governance capability and make a tangible difference to how an entire organisation uses data.
You'll have the scope to establish the framework, influence senior leaders and build a culture of data ownership and accountability. Working alongside our Data & Insight team, you'll help create the trusted data foundations needed for better decision-making, greater efficiency and responsible innovation.
If you're ready to build something meaningful and make data governance work for the business, we'd love to hear from you.
